Non-Traditional Scholarship Program

HCE recognizes that getting a job or staying competitive in today’s workplace involves showing employers you have the skills and experience to get the job done.  In many cases, returning to or starting college is a must.  HCE is proud to offer up to two scholarships per year to adult learners who are going to or returning to college for education training to improve their career opportunities. 

Scholarships Awarded: Up to two (2) $1,000 scholarships

Criteria To Apply:

• Must receive HCE electrical service at home address
• Pursing training in a certified trade, professional or technical program or a two-year or four-year degree program
• Must be 25 years or older

Award Selection Criteria: Personal statement that includes the following information:

• Explain how education path was interrupted or postponed
• Statement explaining desire to further education
• What degree/certification they are pursing
• Estimated timeframe to complete education
• Estimated total educational costs to complete degree/certification
• How the funds would be utilized towards earning their degree/certification
