Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) are “down to earth” heating and cooling systems designed to tap the earth’s stored energy. This unit powered by electricity, pulls the heat from the earth to warm your home during the winter months. During the summer months, simply flip a switch and this system will pull heat from your home to the earth. Waste heat from GSHP can be used to heat water at a very low cost. Tax credits are available when you install GSHPs. As an incentive for members installing a new system, HCE will provide a rebate of $200 per installed ton of ground source heat pump capacity up to a maximum of $1,000 per system. Funds are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.
