CEO May Message - 2021

01 May 2021

By now you should have received an Annual Meeting Update and voting ballot package in the mail from Hill County Electric (HCE). While HCE is not able to host the meeting in person again this year, we will be voting by mail for members to represent District 4 (southern) and District 5 (at large).

In the Annual Meeting Update you will find messages from myself, the current Board President and Secretary/Treasurer along with the nominating committee’s nominations to represent the above-mentioned districts. Members were able to nominate members in Districts 4 & 5 by petition before April 20th. Members can also “write in” a member from those Districts on the ballot since we are unable to take nominations from the floor.

Members running for the open seats had the opportunity to provide a written bio to be included in the update and they could also record a video message. The videos will be posted on the HCE Facebook page and our website for members to learn more about the nominees before they cast their vote. A bio written by each candidate will accompany the ballots for you to learn more about the candidate as well.

HCE will NOT accept ballots at any HCE/TTC office or in the night drop. Ballots must be returned in the self-addressed stamped envelope by US Mail and be received before May 19th at legal counsel, Crist, Krogh, Alke & Nord, PLLC. Legal Counsel will notify HCE of the results. The results will be posted on our Facebook page, website and announced in the Rural Montana magazine.

Contact us at 877-394-7804 with any questions regarding the ballot. Ask for the General Manager Craig Gates, VP of Electric Jim Sands, or CFO Mark Majeres.

I encourage all HCE members to be part of YOUR cooperative by participating in this year’s election. I look forward to gathering in May of 2022 for an in-person Annual Meeting. Until then, stay healthy and be safe!
